Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar Meets with UK Ambassador to Libya
Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, received in his office at the General Command headquarters the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya, Mr. Martin Andrew, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the political process in Libya and reaffirmed their support for the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to create the necessary conditions for holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections.
Ambassador Martin Andrew’s visit comes as he concludes his tenure as the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Libya.
For his part, Field Marshal Haftar expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts throughout his service in Libya, wishing him continued success and emphasizing the depth of relations between Libya and the United Kingdom across all fields.
