The fourth edition of the Benghazi International Book Fair will kick off on November 3 under the theme “Reconstruction and Peace”, with the participation of more than one hundred local and Arab publishing houses. The event marks a cultural celebration that restores the city’s intellectual vitality after years of challenges.
The fair serves as a platform for communication between creators and the public, celebrating this year Libya’s diverse identity and featuring wide participation of women from various regions — affirming the spirit of solidarity and national belonging.
Researcher Faraj Najm stated that this edition carries developmental and cultural dimensions aligned with the reconstruction efforts taking place in the city. Meanwhile, Arab participants described the event as a “cultural wedding”, reflecting Benghazi’s return to its natural position as a capital of culture and creativity.
The fair will also include intellectual seminars, poetry evenings, and interactive workshops — a scene that embodies the vitality of Libya’s cultural landscape and confirms that the book still retains its place despite changing media and the passage of time.
