The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of both the renowned Espérance Sportive de Tunis and the Libyan Military Union Club, making the event a message of friendship and cooperation between the two brotherly nations. The participation of a prominent Arab team with a rich history in African football added further prestige to the occasion.
The new stadium represents a significant addition to Benghazi’s sports facilities, featuring modern equipment and technical standards that allow it to host matches and training camps. It also plays an important role in fostering discipline and teamwork among members of the military institution.

During his tour of the exhibition halls, the General Commander reviewed the pavilions of local and international publishing houses, numbering more than one hundred from twelve different countries, reflecting the cultural vitality the city is witnessing.

]]>Libyan horseman Mohammed said: “We competed with the Red Mares from the great American stable ‘Gar Gar Stables,’ and we succeeded in winning first place in the Benghazi races within the events of the Libya Heritage Carnival.”
For his part, a horse trainer from the Kingdom of Bahrain pointed out that hosting such a championship in Libya represents a major event, demonstrating the country’s ability to attract international tournaments. “The proof lies in the large audience turnout and the participation of world-class horses,” he said.
He also noted that the carnival is among the most diverse and rich events, combining the Arabian Horse Beauty Championship, show jumping, and speed races, culminating in the UAE President’s Cup — an event that reflects the deep historical ties between Libya and the United Arab Emirates and their shared commitment to supporting equestrian sports as a cultural and humanitarian bridge.
Malek Bekhtowa, a member of the organizing committee, confirmed that Benghazi today is witnessing an exceptional event represented by the hosting of the UAE President’s Cup — a competition usually held in major capitals around the world.
“The fact that it is being held in Benghazi today shows that the city is safe and stands as a capital of security and stability,” he added, noting that this cup is considered one of the most prestigious equestrian events held across several capitals worldwide.
Omani journalist Mohammed Al-Rawad stated: “Honestly, the carnival is of an outstanding global level. I didn’t expect to see such organization and such a massive turnout of horses and spectators. Libya impressed us all — the event exceeded expectations in terms of organization and public attendance.”
With a spirit that unites equestrianism, art, and heritage, Benghazi has proven its ability to host major events, reaffirming its position as the capital of Libyan identity.
From the Equestrian Field, where the present blends with the fragrance of the past, this carnival remains more than just an event — it is a message of pride and gratitude to the memory of a nation still galloping toward the future.
The carnival concluded amid an atmosphere of joy and celebration, with participants expressing their happiness with the activities and events presented. The Libya Heritage Carnival stands as a true embodiment of the spirit of belonging and pride in Libyan identity.

The Armed Forces derive their legitimacy and strength from the broad popular support that surrounds them and believes in their ability to achieve victory.
The people feel reassured when they see their sheikhs and wise men standing with the army; they know then that they are moving in the right direction and that the nation is safe.
The support of the sheikhs and elders is the fuel that gives us power and confidence, reinforcing our sense that we are not standing alone in the face of challenges.
Our enemies and those who harbor hatred toward us are shocked and devastated when they witness such meetings.
They realize that their conspiracies, deceit, misleading media campaigns, and attempts to undermine the reputation of the Armed Forces have ended in failure.
Our enemies will continue their efforts to tarnish the image of the Armed Forces and to attack their professionalism, discipline, and absolute loyalty to God and the homeland.
Experience has proven that great national goals can only be achieved when they are embraced by the people through their own free will.
When the people decide upon something, it becomes inevitable — no power on earth can stop them.
If it were not for the people’s decision to confront terrorism during the Operation Dignity battle, and for the tribes’ sacrifices of their dearest sons without awaiting permission from anyone, victory would not have been achieved.
The homeland is going through a suffocating political crisis that has lasted too long. We have done everything in our power to reach a fair and comprehensive peace for the sake of building the state.
However, the political crisis has worsened, becoming a threat to the safety and unity of the nation, and has caused citizens’ suffering, the spread of corruption, and the plundering of wealth.
The crisis has led to the absence of the rule of law and state authority, while the struggle for power has become the dominant feature.
I warn everyone of the seriousness of the situation and stress the necessity for the people themselves to address the political crisis — today, not tomorrow.
The people must not wait for solutions as if waiting for gifts. We appreciate both local and international efforts that have tried to address the Libyan crisis.
Rest assured that your Armed Forces are well and constantly progressing from good to better.
We affirm our determination to continue our struggle without pause — together we shall build a people, an army, and a Libyan state that is stable, secure, and free from terrorism and extremism.
