Ady Boujamra, a member of the Libyan Heritage and Wildlife Authority, stated that the carnival aims to instill Libyan heritage and identity in the hearts of the Libyan people and to raise awareness of the importance of cultural heritage among younger generations.
The carnival witnessed broad participation from across Libya, bringing together more than 55 heritage organizations and associations under the slogan “Heritage Unites Us.” The festivities also included poetry evenings, wildlife exhibitions, and races featuring horses, camels, and falcons.
Officials emphasized that the carnival is not merely an artistic celebration or a folkloric display, but a national and cultural message dedicated to reviving Libyan heritage and strengthening cultural identity.
